Modenas finished with a podium victory at the  PETRONAS Sprinta AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship 2006,  in Kangar circuit, recently.  Modenas rider Shahril Izzuwan Md Noor, who was placed 3^rd in the ‘WIRA epg’ category behind the Momos team which took the top two spots, helped to end Yamaha’s domination throughout the 2006 season.

In the ‘WIRA epg’ B heats, Shahril Izzuwan started from 10^th place, but with improved performance from his Modenas machine, he accelerated to 3^rd place in the early stages before overtaking a Momos rider in the final laps, finishing second.

In the final race, he started in fourth but quickly managed to take the lead in the first lap. He fell behind to fifth after a technical error at the first bend, allowing the Yamaha and Momos riders to pass, but recovered strongly to claim third place.

Shahril’s fine performance underscores Modenas’ ability and engineering technology to compete against other, more renowned  manufacturers. He aims to carry the challenge forward and carve more victories for himself and  Modenas  Racing Team.
